Epicentrum Art Gallery was founded by Jaremi Picz in September 2019 in the heart of Opole. From the very beginning the Gallery place particular emphasis on promoting and selling Polish art as well as original prints by the great European masters of the 20th century, such as Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dalí, Joan Miró, Marc Chagall, Pierre Alechinsky and others. Both these masters and renowned Polish artists were frequently connected with Paris, which inspired us to open the Gallery in a setting designed to reflect the charm and spirit of 20th-century Paris.
Initially run by the father, the gallery underwent a transformation during the pandemic and was taken over by his son, Damian Picz, who, apart from promoting art, also serves as the Referee Training Manager at the Polish Football Association and is a member of the UEFA Referees Convention Panel. This transition allowed Jaremi Picz to fully devote himself to his artistic career, which quickly gained international momentum. His works have been exhibited across Europe and the United States, with notable shows in New York, Paris, Venice, Florence, Vienna, Monaco, Prague, and Brussels, including recent highlights such as Toward the Light in Prague and Il Tempo in Italy.
In 2022 we took a major step towards the active promotion of art: in cooperation with public institutions we began staging exhibitions addressed both to connoisseurs and to novice art enthusiasts. The authenticity of the works we offer is our top priority. We are a team of inquisitive people, hungry for knowledge and eager for constant growth. The interplay between contemporary dynamism and the timeless essence of modern art shapes the identity of the Gallery, which continues to evolve and expand its horizons. It is in this spirit—and in the very name of the gallery—that we remain aligned with the vision behind Jaremi Picz’s series Epicentrum.
In the same year Patryk Mauer, a former handball player of Polish Superliga and current PhD candidate in Computer Science at the Opole University of Technology, has joined the Gallery as a co-owner. In the coming years we anticipate further expansion of the Gallery’s cultural activity, investment in the digitisation of our operations, and the elevation of the website epicentrumgallery.com to the highest international standard.
