Tamara de Lempicka

scale 1200 1

Tamara de Lempicka (1894–1980) was a Polish artist and one of the most distinctive figures of the Art Deco movement. She became renowned for her elegant portraits and stylised depictions of modern life, combining classical influences with the geometric forms, polished surfaces, and sophistication of the 1920s and 1930s.

Her compositions are characterised by sculptural figures, precise lines, dramatic lighting, and a refined sense of glamour. Lempicka frequently portrayed confident, independent women, capturing the changing spirit of the modern era. Her unmistakable style and powerful visual identity have secured her an important place in twentieth-century art.
